Terms of Service

Service Description

Codemend is an error monitoring and AI fix generation service operated by Knod, Inc. at codemend.ai. The service captures production JavaScript errors from your applications, analyzes them using AI (Claude by Anthropic), and generates platform-specific fix prompts and code suggestions. You control whether any suggested fix is applied to your codebase.

Beta Program & No Uptime Guarantee

Codemend is currently in beta. The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Features, pricing, and availability may change. We do not guarantee any specific level of uptime or availability during the beta period. By using the beta, you acknowledge that bugs and downtime may occur without notice.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Codemend only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to abuse, overload, or circumvent the service's rate limits or usage restrictions
• Introduce malicious code, malware, or harmful content into the service
• Attempt to access other users' data or systems
• Resell or sublicense access to the service without our written consent
• Use the service to monitor applications you do not own or have no authorization to monitor

Data Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the error data you send to Codemend. This includes ensuring that any error payloads, stack traces, and associated metadata you transmit do not contain sensitive personal data from your end users (such as passwords, payment information, or government IDs) unless properly redacted. We process the data you send us in good faith and cannot screen for improperly included sensitive data.

Your Responsibilities

• Review all AI-suggested fixes before applying them
• Maintain backups of your code — we are not responsible for code changes you approve
• Keep your API key confidential
• Do not abuse the service or use it for purposes other than error monitoring

Our Responsibilities

• Keep your data secure and private
• Only access your code when analyzing specific errors
• Never share your code or data with third parties (except as needed for AI analysis)
• Provide reasonable uptime during the beta period

AI-Generated Fixes

All code fixes suggested by Codemend are generated by artificial intelligence and should be reviewed by a human before being applied. We do not guarantee that suggested fixes are correct, complete, or free of bugs. You apply fixes at your own discretion and risk.

Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

Pro, Team, and Enterprise users may provide their own Anthropic API key to remove monthly AI analysis limits. When using BYOK:

• “Unlimited analyses” means we remove our monthly cap — your usage is subject to Anthropic's own rate limits and pricing
• API token costs are billed directly by Anthropic to your account (~$0.03 per analysis at current Haiku 4.5 rates)
• Your API key is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and never logged or exposed
• You are responsible for monitoring your Anthropic API spend
• We may fall back to our platform key if your key is invalid or rate-limited, to ensure analysis completes

Limitation of Liability

Codemend is not liable for any damages resulting from the use of this service, including but not limited to data loss, downtime, or code changes made based on AI suggestions.

Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from the Settings page or by contacting us at support@codemend.ai. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without notice, if we determine you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
